Splinter Cell Remake Game Director Left Ubisoft

David Grivel spent 11 years at the studio.

The Splinter Cell Remake game director, David Grivel, announced he is leaving Ubisoft. Previously, Grivel was the lead designer on Far Cry 6. The announcement was made on LinkedIn, adding that Grivel is taking a new position at People Can Fly Studio as Creative Director.

Little is known about the game's new director has not yet been named or how the news affects the project. The remake was announced in December 2021. Ubisoft hasn't shared much on the development but we know that the story for the Splinter Cell Remake is being rewritten for a modern audience.

"11 years is a long time and summing it up in one post is quasi-impossible but I must say, I’ve been lucky. Lucky to work with so many great people over the years. Made so many friends," wrote Grivel. "From Ubisoft Paris (Ghost Recon Future Soldier), to Ubisoft Toronto (Splinter Cell Blacklist, Assassin’s Creed Unity, Far Cry Primal, 5, 6 and Splinter Cell Remake), I’ve had the opportunity to work on many franchises that I love as a gamer."
