Study on Water Droplets Simulation

Check out recent research on how to simulate water droplets using a particle approach.

Two Minute Papers has shared an overview of the new research made by students from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Stanford University, and Dartmouth College.

The study introduces a new approach to simulating water droplets. The suggested particle workflow was showcased by creating an 8-sided fluid polygon built with three types of particles used on different parts of the droplet: sheet, filament, and volume particles that create the water surface, the sprays of the droplet, and the core of the splash. Such an approach offers creators ways to simulate more sophisticated surface-tension flows.
