Substance Painter Tutorial: Photorealistic Prop Texturing

Will Brosch, Game Art Tutor at Escape Studios, shared a new in-depth tutorial for junior artists on Photorealistic Prop Texturing in Substance Painter.

Check out this great new tutorial on photorealistic prop texturing published by tutor from Escape Studios. Substance Painter offers an incredibly powerful suite of tools for realistic texturing work. It has tools the artists need to texture 3D assets, from advanced brushes to Smart Materials that automatically adapt to the model.

In this tutorial Will Brosch, Game Art Tutor at Escape Studios, breaks down the components of PBR materials to help the students understand what defines particular surface properties. Observes reference photographs and digs into some of the more advanced tools to create textures that are both physically accurate and artistically beautiful.

In the video Will Brosch takes the students and juniors through the theory firstly, and then works in Substance Painter demonstrating its main photorealistic features, tips and tricks.
