Take A Look At This Isometric Action Shooter Set In The Wild West

Sunset Devils is an indie action pixel art game made with GameMaker and set in a vibrant Wild West, featuring different gun types and vicious enemies.

Andre, also known as illseer on X/Twitter, is the developer behind Sunset Devils, which is basically a classic Western-style isometric shooter, following the journey of a mysterious bandaged protagonist, facing all kinds of violent enemies including bandits and wild dogs.

The game includes a complex firearms mechanic, relying on manual control. There are multiple types of guns featured, for example, lever action rifles, derringers, shotguns, and revolvers, all with their own unique techniques. According to the developer, only 4 separate guns can be packed at a time.

The weapons are not limited to firearms as the player can use knives as well.

Andre also demonstrated a funny mechanic that employs this UI to smoke cigarettes:

Despite being set in a sun-scorched desert town, Sunset Devils seems to have a variety of other locations, including rivers and fully green forests. Naturally, the interiors include typical Western saloons filled with diverse NPCs.

Aside from enemy bandits engaging in gun duels, there are plenty of other things to beware of in this unfriendly place, such as wild dogs and dust devils:

According to the developer, the game is made with GameMaker and there's no public playable build available as of now, although there are plans for a Kickstarter campaign in the future. Sunset Devlis has been in development for quite some time and Andre regularly shares WIPs on the game account.
