The Danish studio Playdead, known as the developer of critically acclaimed minimalistic puzzle-platform games Limbo and Inside, has been hinting they're working on a third big title for quite a while.
The developers started mentioning a mysterious third project shortly after the Inside release, confirming they're working on a "next adventure" and inviting those who were looking for a "new challenge" to join the team. The game was first teased back in March 2018 during the Game Developers Conference.
Since then, Playdead has occasionally published some concept art, usually displaying a melancholic scenery with a sci-fi undertone. On the company's official site, the new project is described as a "3rd-person science fiction adventure set in a remote corner of the universe".
The very few revealed pieces of information about the game are that the working title is Rover and it's Playdead's most ambitious project so far, supposedly much more spacious than their previous games. The game will be published by Epic Games, as was announced in 2020 with Epic Games being responsible for publishing future Playdead titles.
