The Witcher 3 Secret Disclosed In 7 In-Game Years

Funnily enough, it also took almost 7 real years to find.

YouTuber xLetalis found a secret left by The Witcher 3 developer Philipp Weber. The secret is connected to Vivienne – the lady-in-waiting to Duchess Anna Henrietta from the Blood and Wine DLC.

In the game, Vivienne is cursed and she gradually looks more and more bird-like. To lift the curse, Geralt can offer trapping the curse inside an oriole egg, freeing Vivienne but making her live the average life of the bird – 7 years.

Using console commands, xLetalis moved Vivienne to Skellige and sped up time to make 7 years pass, which resulted in the woman actually dying on the spot. Unfortunately, the secret is a bit bugged as the model doesn't work the way it's supposed to and Vivienne can still talk to the witcher, but it's still nice to see such small details being followed through.

Philipp Weber confirmed it was, indeed, a secret.

The YouTuber also encountered something like the end of the world after 10 in-game years, where the game fills with glitches, artifacts, and time issues.

The Witcher 3 has plenty of secrets, and we hope the next game in the series, powered by Unreal Engine 5, will have even more.
