Tutorial: Creating a Proximity Effect With Geometry Nodes in Blender

Learn how to create a nice effect in 5 minutes.

The Vipraz Designs channel on YouTube shared a quick video guide to setting up a nice-looking proximity effect in Blender with the help of geometry nodes. The video shows how you can create the effect using a couple of useful nodes in the Geometry Nodes editor.

You could use the effect to simulate alien surfaces, for example, and make them react to nearby objects based on the distance between two. The setup is actually pretty straightforward so you'll figure out the trick in no time.
