A Behind-the-Scenes Look at God of War Ragnarök's Garm

Andrew Ariza demonstrated how the Hound of Hel looked during production.

During last week's God of War Ragnarök art dump, Senior Character Artist at Santa Monica Studio Andrew Ariza shared a behind-the-scenes look at the game's depiction of Garm, a gigantic wolf and the Hound of Hel from Norse mythology. According to the ArtStation post shared by Andrew, the artist was responsible for sculpting the character's high poly model, grooming Garm's fur, and texturing the creature, as well as other "technical responsibilities pertaining to blend shapes and optimization".

"This feat would not have been achievable without the invaluable contributions of the exceptional art direction and visual development team," commented the creator. "Art Direction by Raf Grassetti, Visual development lead Dela Longfish, Concept by Yefim Kligerman, and the support of our lead Eric Valdez. Special thanks to Josiah Scholten."
