In a new demo, the creator showcased the title's destructions achieved with UE5's Chaos.
In case you haven't heard, over the past few years, Game Developer known only as Shin Sa has been hard at work creating a fan-made game adaptation of World Trigger, a Japanese sci-fi anime and manga series written by Daisuke Ashihara.
Initially developed in Dreams, a game creation system for PlayStation 4, the project was migrated to Epic Games' Unreal Engine 5 in June 2023, thanks to the latter's ability to accommodate the creator's vision and enable them to "increase the number of cube divisions" and "implement detailed settings switching".
Recently, Shin Sa provided a highly-anticipated update on the project by sharing a new WIP demo and offering a look at the World Trigger game's depiction of Kogetsu, a popular all-purpose blade wielded by many of the series' characters.
Furthermore, the newly-released demo showcased the project's combat and movement animations, as well as its destruction mechanics achieved with UE5's Chaos, a high-performance physics and destruction system that lets its users achieve cinematic-quality visuals in real-time in scenes with massive-scale levels of destruction.
