Lux, the developer behind the Halide camera app, has recently launched a new app, which turns your iPad into an external HDMI display for any camera, video game console, or even VHS. All you need is Orion and an adapter for it to work.

The app was created as a response to Apple's latest implementation of UVC support on the iPad through iPadOS 17. This means that users can now connect compatible webcams and video capture cards to USB-C iPad models, excluding iPads with Lightning ports.

The app is completely free of charge but if you want to support Orion you can purchase Orion Pro. With AI upscaling, CRT emulation for retro games, image adjustments, and other features, it's a comprehensive upgrade available for just a one-time payment of $5. Orion Pro provides access to all features without any subscription needed.
