A New Pack of Substance 3D Designer Nodes Lets You Skip Repetitive Tasks

The pack includes ten quality-of-life nodes designed to streamline your workflow by eliminating tedious tasks.

Daniel Thiger, a renowned Digital Artist and Substance 3D enthusiast, has released Dete Node Pack, a fantastic new pack for Substance 3D Designer that introduces ten brand-new nodes designed to streamline your workflow by eliminating tedious and repetitive tasks.

Created in Substance 3D Designer 13.0.2, these quality-of-life nodes come from Daniel's personal library, with the artist commenting that he uses the nodes daily for his freelance projects. "This curated collection of custom nodes adds efficiency, creativity, and control to your material creation process," reads the pack's description.

The pack features:

  • Dete Atlas Selector: Efficiently extracts individual elements from grid-aligned atlas textures without the need for transform and crop node chains, streamlining the selection process.
  • Dete Blend with Mask: This is pretty much like the default blend node, which offers a set of blend modes. The huge difference, though, is that it also outputs the intersectional mask between your inputs, simplifying the creation of color or roughness maps and saving time and effort.
  • Dete Blend Multi: Combine up to eight textures with common blend modes in a single node. Reduces node clutter and offers superior performance compared to chained blends.
  • Dete Cables: Bring your sci-fi materials to life with realistic cable patterns. This node transforms grayscale inputs into captivating cable textures with adjustable thickness and rotation.
  • Dete Cracks Generator: Add a touch of realism to tiles, architecture, and natural elements with the Dete Cracks Generator. Customize the size of the cracks to achieve the desired level of detail.
  • Dete Inflate: Breathe life into organic materials like clay and mud with the inflate/deflate options. This Slope Blur node comes with intuitive controls for various feature scales and offers precise control over amount and softening.
  • Dete Polish: Tame unruly textures with targeted noise reduction. Choose from three modes to eliminate high-frequency noise, soften sharp angles, or eliminate peaks and valleys (fully black and white pixels). Performance-conscious users can optimize the node by setting unused sliders to '0'.
  • Dete Shape Gen: This shape generator node creates useful shapes based on simple noise inputs. Craft the perfect base shapes for terrain, sand, dirt, snow, and more. This versatile node generates smooth, noise-driven forms with adjustable directionality and sharpness.
  • Dete Stone Sculpter: Generate adjustable edge damage on stone surfaces using cell or ID maps. Supports custom noise inputs and precise noise frequency control.
  • Dete Transform: A transform node with a bit more control and intuitive parameters for offset, rotation, tiling, and scale. Snap move/rotate for pixel-perfect alignment.
