A Short Guide on Setting Up Realistic Water Animations

Learn more about how gravity affects water with this short demonstration by Quentin Cordonnier.

2D FX Animator Quentin Cordonnier released a short one-ten-second-video long guide on how gravity affects water. The video shows where a cup of water's center of gravity is located and how a liquid with a normal viscosity would be affected by movement. This guide is designed to help aspiring animators set up realistic-looking projects that involve liquids.

"When animating some shots with liquids, we sometimes don't take this into account and it can create some weird things," commented the author. "Plus, it can be a good exercise to play with water animation, how it stretches, bounce back and forth, etc."
