Activision Blizzard's PC Sales Outperform Consoles in Q1 2023

The PC gaming market has brought the company $27 million more than consoles.

Activision Blizzard has published a Q1 2023 financial report, revealing that the PC gaming market has brought the studio more money than consoles for the third quarter in a row, marking a continuing growth of the PC sector and indicating a significant shift in the gaming industry, given that traditionally, the publisher has earned more revenue from console sales.

According to the report, the company earned $666 million from PC game sales in the first quarter of 2023, outperforming console sales by $27 million, which amounted to $639 million. While Activision Blizzard earned more from console sales in 2022, if the trend continues, 2023 might become the first year in the company's history when PC profits exceed consoles.

Activision Blizzard attributes the increase in PC revenue since last year to the success of Call of Duty and Overwatch 2, but also mentions the higher revenues generated by WoW: Dragonflight and Diablo Immortal, two games exclusively available on PC.
