Adorable Sea Creature Plushies Made With UE5 & Blender

Meet Shelly the Octopus and Sheldon the Crab!

According to Lighting/Real-time TD Adithya Sathyanarayanan, Shelly the Octopus and Sheldon the Crab were rendered in real-time in Unreal Engine 5, with hair grooms styled and set up in just one day with Blender's Geometry Nodes hair system.

A dedicated team at Texas A&M University worked to bring these adorable little pushes to life: Naimishaba Parmar handled character modeling, Alyssa Curran took care of crab grooming and surfacing, Adithya Sathyanarayanan was responsible for grooming and surfacing the octopus, and Bria Peters worked on the props. The characters are based on concepts done by Maleah Miller, Melanie Riojas, and Sonia Wong.
