Amsterdam Hotel Might File a Lawsuit Over Appearing in Call of Duty Modern Warfare II

Conservatorium Hotel isn't happy to be a battleground.

When Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II's Amsterdam mission was revealed, players were amazed by how much the game resembled the real city. However, not everyone was happy: the 5-star Conservatorium Hotel didn't appreciate appearing in the shooter.

"We have taken note of the fact that the Conservatorium Hotel is undesirably the scene of the new Call of Duty ", said hotel manager Roy Tomassen. "More generally, we don't support games that seem to encourage the use of violence. The game in no way reflects our core values and we regret our apparent and unwanted involvement."

Conservatorium appears in the game under the name of "Breenbergh" and serves as a battlefield. As it didn't agree to that, the management is considering its next steps, according to de Volksrant. Taking legal action might be a possibility if the companies don't resolve the situation in another way.

Some find the hotel's reaction exaggerated and think the owners should treat its appearance in a popular franchise as advertising, but the management's point of view is understandable: being a place of shooting might not be the best image for a place where guests are supposed to feel safe.
