Ariana Grande to Headline Fortnite's Rift Tour 2021

Epic Games released the official teaser trailer and announced that there will be 5 shows between August 6 and August 9.

The in-game concert is almost there — Fortnite's Rift Tour begins on August 6 at 6 PM ET. There will be 5 shows between August 6 and August 9 and Fortnite players are free to attend several gigs if they wish. The shows are not different, however, "changing your Outfit or Wrap selection for each show will alter the effects you experience," the game developers comment.

The official teaser trailer features beautiful extraterrestrial visuals that look a lot like VFX from Ariana's Break Free and God is a Woman music videos so seems like the concert is going to be every Fortnite-playing Arianator's dream. According to replies from Twitter users, some of the fans are even planning to install the game purely for the sake of seeing Ariana's performance. Fortnite released a quick tutorial for those who have never played the game and are looking to join in to see the show. Plus, the team added a note to their Rift Tour FAQ saying that they aim "to accommodate everyone possible, but if capacity is reached, please join us for one of the other shows."

In 2020, Travis Scott headlined Fortnite's Rift Tour and that was pretty epic even for Epic Games (the cheesy comment was hard to resist). The rapper's Astronomical Rift Tour show featured mind-blowing visuals, a giant version of Travis teleporting across the Fortnite map, the ability to jump off the in-game objects as if those were trampolines, and more insane things like the stage suddenly turning into an endless ocean with neon lights shining through the deep turquoise water. That year, 12 million players attended the event. This year's gig is probably going to be just as big as Travis's 2020 performance.

To make sure the Rift Tour update loads correctly and the game lets you join the show, don't forget to download the v17.30 game update. Also, the team recommends loading up Fortnite about an hour prior to your chosen showtime.
