The new studio will be developing original projects.
The founder of Atari, Nolan Bushnell, is one of the co-founders of a new technology-focused game studio. The new company promises to offer video game technology with cinema-quality visuals.
Bushnell will be leading the studio. Previously, the manager launched Atari and its classics, Pong and Asteroids. Executives from King, Blizzard, EA, and Konami have also joined the project. Some of the team members are Atari's Jane Whittaker, the creator of Athena Worlds, Emily Amphlett, senior program manager at Unity, and Sandeep Raithatha, director of strategy, planning and insights at King.

The plan is to launch proprietary games and IPs for PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo, plus mobile platforms.
Athena Worlds' software and tools will also be licensed to other publishers in order to reduce development time and costs.
