When a game, particularly an indie title, catches our attention three times within four months, there must be a strong reason to recommend it. The exciting new features in Silver Pines, an upcoming horror Metroidvania that we covered in July and September, are simply too impressive to overlook.
The developers from Wych Elm have added nice destruction to the objects, such as wooden doors and fluorescent lights. As the developers teased, "Atmosphere is the top pillar of this game." Both clips below show how the destruction enhances the overall experience by adding more immersion and interaction.
Notably, in this clip, as the protagonist, an FBI agent, Red Walker, uses a shotgun or axe to break the door, the camera also moves to present a wider view for the players, which comes naturally and smoothly:
When the linear light was shot at, its movement cast your shadow on the wall, moving along with the light and shivering before it completely died out with another shot:
OMG, this art design! is what I almost literally cried out when seeing the footage from the game. If you’ve got a similar feeling, then the following clips and screenshots shared by the developers could get you hooked on the game even more. You’ll get to see a stormy night with heavy rain and lightning, a WIP scene, and different types of bullets.
Silver Pines doesn’t have a release date or demo yet. We highly recommend you follow the developer on X/Twitter and add the game to your wishlist on Steam to stay updated about the game’s development.
