Blender Artist Alan Wyatt, known for developing multiple useful tools for achieving the traditional style and mixed media look for 3D art, has offered a behind-the-scenes look at one of A Home for Swallows animation tests made by Alexander Tullo.
A Home for Swallows is an upcoming animated short film about the relationship between two lovers, Claire and Maurice, who've become distanced by their own passions and needs. As they set off on a trip across the French countryside, their relationship is pushed to the edge through the lens of Maurice's paintings, and "life together falls apart as the line between what is real and what is art becomes blurred".
For this animation test and the film, Alan Wyatt worked on the painterly effect for the pipeline, enhancing the visual style with procedural filters and developing an exclusive rendering workflow based on his Blender Live Paint Filter tool.
