Chaos Czech has released Corona Renderer 6 for 3ds Max, the next version featuring a new sky model and a randomized texture tiling system.
The release also brings some of the V-Ray features like adaptive environment sampling and improved bloom and glare controls. What is more, the toolkit now supports foam simulated in Phoenix FD and has 78 new readymade materials.
The most important part of the release is the new sky model, which, for example, can be used for nice-looking dawn and dusk scenes or to remove the green cast from daylight scenes.
You can create multiple sun and sky setups for a scene, use Corona’s LightMix system to generate multiple time-of-day variations of a render.
There's also the Adaptive Environment Sampler from V-Ray saving time on adding light portals to interior scenes to mimic light coming through windows.
The release also brings improved texture randomization. The CoronaUvwRandomizer map now supports randomized texture tiling, plus scale, offset, and rotation.
