Elden Ring Sales Hit 20 Million Copies

The announcement comes just a few days before the action RPG's first anniversary.

Shortly before Elden Ring's first anniversary which will take place on February 25, publisher Bandai Namco and developer FromSoftware revealed that sales of their action RPG have surpassed 20 million copies.

The companies announced the news on Twitter thanking fans for their continued support. "Our heartfelt thanks for your support and companionship on this journey," the companies wrote.

Elden Ring was released on February 25, 2022 and became an immediate success selling its first 12 million units in just 17 days.

The most recent sales update took place in November 2022 – at that time, Bandai Namco shared that the game sold 17.5 million copies as of September 30, 2022 meaning that the title sold an additional 2.5 million copies in just a little under 5 months.

On February 25, Bandai Namco will hold a celebratory live stream to mark the first anniversary of Elden Ring, although it's uncertain whether the publisher will announce any new content to commemorate the milestone of twenty million copies. Nonetheless, the live stream will offer exciting giveaways, contests, and exclusive prizes.

Elden Ring is available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC via Steam.
