The game runs on real hardware.
While Valve is working on porting its Portal games to Switch, developer James Lambert decided to see what it would look like on Nintendo 64.
The latest update of the demake added the portal gun, which seems to be working quite well. The game can render 14 portal layers (and maybe even more). Impressively, it works on real N64 hardware quite smoothly.
Lambert noted that the demake is still in development and lacks many aspects, like the sound and the portals' animation and particles. The author said the next update can be much bigger as he was "getting a lot of the core engine done."
