The studio will operate entirely through remote operations and its debut project will be "an MMO or something very MMO-like."
Greg Street, the former executive producer of League of Legends MMO, has revealed that he's opening a new game studio.
In early March, Street announced that he was leaving Riot Games, citing "a combo of personal and professional considerations" as the reason for his departure. And now, the developer has announced his decision to open his own fully remote studio.
Street pointed out that the pandemic and a recent family tragedy prompted him to consider the benefits of working from home, enabling him to stay close to loved ones. By adopting this format, he can now relocate to Texas and be with his family.
The developer's studio has ambitious plans for rapid expansion, and Street has already secured a strategic partner to help achieve this. While the identity of the partner remains undisclosed, the studio is set to embark on the creation of its first game, which is said to be "an MMO or something very MMO-like."
Street noted that he is not yet ready to share the name of his studio or provide additional details and indicated that there won't be any updates for a while as he focuses on addressing organizational matters.
