FromSoftware's Next Title Is "In the Final Stages of Development"

The studio is also currently seeking staff to work on "multiple new projects."

Elden Ring director and FromSoftware president Hidetaka Miyazaki shared that the studio's new yet unannounced title is "in the final stages of development."

The fact that the game is close to the end of development was revealed during the interview with the Japanese site 4Gamer (translated by VCG) where the director was asked if one of the games he was talking about in the previous interview is still on the way.

Back in 2018, Miyazaki told the website that since 2016 FromSoftware had been working on "three and a half games". Since then, the studio released almost all the titles it talked about including Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, Elden Ring, and PS4 VR title Déraciné – the "0.5" title. However, one of the projects is still unreleased.

Miyazaki confirmed that the game is still in the works noting that the team is already nearing the end of development. However, he didn't provide any further details on the upcoming project. Some fans, citing January's Resetera leak, suggested that the next FromSoftware game might be the next installment in the Armored Core series which was reportedly mentioned in a consumer survey.

Elsewhere in the interview, Miyazaki also mentioned that he doesn't lead the development of all studio projects. Some of them are handled by other game directors, but he didn't share the details about these games yet.

According to FromSoftware job openings, the studio indeed is currently working on multiple projects. The studio emphasized that it is looking for employees who will play leading roles in the development of unannounced projects. FromSoftware didn't specify the games it is working on, but one of the job descriptions mentions mech combat, so it is possible that the studio plans to return to the Armored Core series.
