Frostpunk and This War of Mine publisher 11 bit studios announced its upcoming new game codenamed Vitriol developed by Fool’s Theory, which has worked on The Witcher 2 and 3, created Seven: The Days Long Gone, and supported Baldur's Gate 3.
With a budget of 17 million zloty (about $3,800,786), Vitriol will be the largest project for both the publisher and the developer.
"Our game is a deep, morally ambiguous narrative-driven RPG," said CEO and Project Lead at Fool’s Theory, Jakub Rokosz. "The game is about the esoteric side of reality, that dark part of the world that most of us don't see and are not aware of its existence, but the darkness – it is there, lurking behind every corner. It watches us closely from the shadows, and whether we know it or not – takes its toll, making sure we’re going to have a debt to pay.
The story begins in early XX century Warsaw, under imperial Russian tsardom, "in a place and time where reality, folklore, energy, and mysticism met together in a melting pot."
Neither 11 bit studios nor Fool’s Theory shared any details about the story or game mechanics, but the global reveal of the project Vitriol should be coming this summer.
Just a week ago, the published announced another game it's working on – The Alters, where you play as Jan Dolski who creates different versions of himself on a lonely planet and explores new possibilities.
