Studio Technical Director at Guerrilla Games Michiel van der Leeuw, who's been with the studio for almost the entirety of its 23 years of existence, has recently published a detailed LinkedIn post, revealing some interesting information regarding the developer's proprietary game engine Decima.
Firstly, van der Leeuw announced his decision to step down from his position as Guerrilla's Studio Director, which he held for more than three years, intending to "wear one hat at work" and focus more on the development of Decima, the studio's engine used for such titles as Killzone: Shadow Fall, Horizon Zero Dawn, and Horizon Forbidden West, as well as Supermassive Games' Until Dawn and Kojima Productions' Death Stranding.
Secondly, the developer revealed that the studio has "ambitious future plans" for the engine, saying that "a studio roadmap and future direction for the Decima engine [are] so ambitious, that combining both is more than one day job."
