Their only demand is for Team Cherry to provide an update on the long-awaited sequel.

If you've been to the largest Hollow Knight: Silksong subreddit lately, chances are you've already come across the latest trend in the HK community – a movement that threatens to "sacrifice" the entirety of r/Silksong if Team Cherry doesn't provide an update on the long-awaited sequel.
Though it's unclear how or by whom the campaign started, the fans' main demand is as clear as day – they want some information about Hollow Knight: Silksong, originally set for release in the first half of 2023 but delayed due to ongoing development. If their demand isn't met, the desperate fans are threatening to delete, or as they refer to it, "sacrifice", the entire r/Silksong subreddit, which currently boasts more than 34,000 subscribers.
Attached below are just a few of the posts shared by the fans over the past couple of days:
One Reddit post, shared by user gianpioperchinunno, added fuel to the fire by featuring a tweet from the game's developer that, at first glance, gave the impression that Team Cherry might be launching Silksong today, February 14. While the tweet itself is 100% legit, it was, however, posted in 2019, back when the sequel was first announced:
At this point, it's unclear what fate awaits the subreddit if the presumed deadline of March 1, 2024, arrives and Hollow Knight: Silksong is still not released. Whether the moderators will indeed embrace the meme and sacrifice the community or if the movement will eventually fizzle out, only time will tell. We highly encourage you to visit r/Silksong while it is still available to learn more about the movement.
