IO Interactive's New James Bond Game Leans Towards Craig, Not Brosnan

As the developer shares, the upcoming Project 007 seems to align more closely with the style of Daniel Craig's portrayal of the character rather than Roger Moore's.

In a recent interview with Edge Magazine, IO Interactive CEO Hakan Abran provided more details about the highly anticipated James Bond game, Project 007, being developed by the studio. Described as the "ultimate spycraft fantasy" for players, the game is still a few years away from release.

IO Interactive's track record with the critically acclaimed Hitman series gives confidence that they will do justice to the Bond franchise. While Hitman focuses more on assassination, the upcoming James Bond game will reportedly have similarities in terms of clever tactics and stealth, aligning more with the gritty and realistic style of Daniel Craig's portrayal of the iconic spy.

Despite the speculation surrounding gadgets, the game is expected to follow the darker themes of the Craig era, as opposed to the more gadget-heavy approach of Pierce Brosnan's Bond. It is worth noting that the game will not be directly inspired by any particular film or story, but rather will offer a new interpretation of the Bond mythos, drawing inspiration from the original novels and the entire film franchise.

The game is set to have a strong narrative focus, distinguishing itself from IO's Hitman series. Players can anticipate engaging in third-person action gameplay, embarking on an original story with a fresh cast of characters. Further details about the project have yet to be revealed, but updates are expected, possibly in 2024.

This highly anticipated James Bond game has been in development since its initial announcement in November 2020. Fans eagerly await more information from IO Interactive as they continue to work on bringing the iconic spy to the world of gaming.

duh! Daniel Craig is the one. Roger was amazing but old school. More suave less action. Awesome for a movie, not great for an action game. Brosnan's 007 was great too. But a bit American. With Craig we got to see more about who 007 was, than with any other before him.
