Maxon One 2025 Is Here

Effortlessly direct simulations with Cinema 4D, generate beautiful caustics with a single click in Redshift, and take the power of ZBrush on the go with this release.

Maxon, the creator of powerful and user-friendly software trusted by professionals across 3D modeling, motion graphics, animation, filmmaking, digital sculpting, product and architectural visualization, editing, and rendering, has shipped Maxon One 2025, which includes ZBrush for iPad.

The wait is over: ZBrush for iPad, designed by artists for artists, offers a reimagined touch interface while preserving the power of the desktop version and provides an easy start to digital sculpting for beginners. ZBrush's Product Development Manager Paul Gaboury sat down with 80 Level for an exclusive interview about the release, so check out it here.

While ZBrush for iPad is definitely the highlight of Maxon One's fall update, it also brings enhancements to Cinema 4D, Redshift, Red Giant, Cineware, and Capsules with a focus on streamlining workflows and boosting precision and control of tools and features used by product designers, video editors, compositors, motion graphics artists, and VFX professionals.

The major change in ZBrush 2025 involves the subscription package: now, subscriptions for the desktop version also include ZBrush for iPad. ZBrush 2025 release focuses on integrating ZBrush for iPad with enhanced features and mainly addresses bug fixes in the rest of the software.

Cinema 4D 2025 continues to streamline the creation of simulation and particle effects with new art-directing options. Artists can now design advanced motion graphics effects using the new Follow Spline modifier, which makes it easy to guide particles along a vector shape, such as a logo or a flowing curve. It's now also possible to easily apply weights and forces in rigid body simulations, and Pyro enhancements offer more control over specific looks.

There's also a new Field Driver tag for adding procedural animations, an Object Profiling Manager for optimizing viewport performance, enhanced OCIO color management for ensuring consistent color, and support for exporting instances and skeletal animations to USD and working with Substance 3D materials.

Redshift 2025 expands creative possibilities with support for both photorealistic and non-photorealistic rendering on virtually any GPU or CPU. The improved toon rendering now includes a global contour option for applying line drawings to entire scenes, along with precise control over toon lines and shading using contour tone mapping and custom patterns. Easy Brute Force caustics make it simple to create realistic light patterns through various transparent surfaces.

Additionally, Redshift 2025 includes procedural shaders for Sprites and a new Volume Depth AOV pass for compositing effects like clouds, smoke, and explosions.

Red Giant 2025 revitalizes workflows with a set of helpful new features, such as enhanced capabilities in After Effects with Geo, a new tool for texturing and repeating 3D geometry with added support for rigged animation, and built-in depth of field, UI improvements to Particular Designer, and Parametric Curve, a new tool for handling color and HDR video.

This release also adds valuable updates to Maxon Capsules, including new Exterior Scanned Outdoor Materials like rock and grass, plus photorealistic plants from Laubwerk. It also introduces a new collection of wood, tile, and asphalt shingle materials for Redshift from Fuchs & Vogel.
