During a recent financial call, Warner Bros. suddenly announced Mortal Kombat 12, the continuation of NetherRealm's legendary fighting games series, revealed by WB to be released later this year. At the moment, NetherRealm themselves neither confirmed nor disproved the surprising confirmation, with the developer's social pages remaining silent.
NetherRealm's CCO and Mortal Kombat creator Ed Boon, however, acknowledged WB's confirmation with a joking tweet mentioning Injustice 3, a game many predicted to be the studio's next title:
