Naughty Dog Acknowledged Issues with The Last of Us on PC

Meanwhile, fans have come up with a solution.

The Last of Us Part I was released for PC on March 28 and has been bombarded with negative feedback over the game's performance. Players complain about frame rate issues, crashes, long loading times, and other problems, so Naughty Dog published a tweet addressing the concerns.

The company said it is "actively investigating multiple issues" reported by the players and will fix them in upcoming patches. It also urged everyone to submit a ticket for any problem they encounter.

Meanwhile, fans have already come up with their own solution to performance and shader-building issues. On Reddit, user AurA shared that the root of the problem is in the Oodle decompression library, "which has confirmed memory leaking issues". They suggest downgrading to the previous version and say it greatly improved loading times.

You can download the fix from Nexus Mods. Many players note smoother performance and faster shader loading, so if you have the same issue, give it a try.
