The next Call of Duty game, scheduled for this year, is reportedly going to appear on Game Pass from day one. According to The Wall Street Journal, Microsoft is planning to break the news in June during its showcase.

This might be a great incentive to get the subscription. Xbox is in the middle of strategic changes with Microsoft releasing some of its once-exclusive titles on PlayStation and Nintendo Switch. This initiative will likely attract more users to Game Pass as Call of Duty is one of the most popular games out there and a major reason Microsoft bought Activision. Last year, we learned that 1 million people play Call of Duty only, no other games – that's dedication.

This year's Call of Duty is said to be Black Ops 6 set during the Gulf War. At the center of it are traditional military technology and Black Ops gadgets. The game will "attempt to explore a nuanced narrative of the Gulf War, with a critical focus on different participants within the conflict. It will dovetail into the end of the Cold War era, and explore some of the consequences therein."

The title's developer Treyarch seemingly wants to use more AI in its games – a fact players feel strongly against – so it's curious to see what CoD will bring to the table.
