Microsoft Is Bringing Four Xbox Exclusives to PS5 & Nintendo Switch

If everything goes smoothly, there'll be more to come.

As it was promised, Phil Spencer, Sarah Bond, and Matt Booty have finally shared Microsoft's vision for the future of Xbox in a recent podcast.

In case you're missing what we're talking about, let me shed some light for you. For the past weeks, rumors have been claiming that Microsoft is planning to change its strategy and launch its exclusives on other platforms, such as PlayStation and Nintendo Switch. Back then, different sources stated that the Indiana Jones game, Starfield, Hi-Fi Rush, Pentiment, and other titles might be joining those platforms.

In the Xbox podcast, Spencer has shared that Microsoft will officially bring four Xbox-exclusive games to PS5 and Nintendo Switch.

"We've made the decision that we're going to take four games to the other consoles," said Spencer.

Spencer didn't reveal the specific titles, only mentioning that they would be community-driven games, with two of them being smaller in scale. He also said that neither Indiana Jones nor Starfield are part of these four games.

Sources close to the matter have shared with The Verge that the four games in question are Hi-Fi Rush, Pentiment, Sea of Thieves, and Grounded.

Spencer also noticed that there might be more Microsoft games being released on PS5 and Nintendo Switch in the future.

Adding to the mentioned above, Microsoft's decision to expand beyond the Xbox world includes releasing some games on other platforms while actively developing its own. Despite this, there won't be a significant shift in the company's strategy regarding exclusives, with internal studio games remaining primarily on Xbox.

Spencer also shared that he anticipates a decrease in console exclusives in the industry over the next decade.
