The commercial lead and vice president of Overwatch Jon Spector is departing from the company after six years.
Jon Spector, the commercial lead and vice president of Overwatch, has announced his departure from Blizzard. He has been with the company for six years and will be leaving it at the end of March.
Spector shared the news on his personal Twitter account, expressing his gratitude to Team 4, the Overwatch community, and all Blizzard staff who contributed to making his career at the company "incredible".
"After 6 amazing years, I’ve decided to hang up my sword and am leaving Blizzard at the end of March," Spector wrote. "Working on Overwatch has been the highlight of my career – Team 4 brings immense talent and passion to their work every day.
"Thank you to everyone at Blizzard who made this chapter of my career so incredible, and thank you to the Overwatch community too! I'll still be around memeing in Twitter replies and posting DPS Moira highlights."
Spector did not specify the reason for his departure but recognized the promising future of Overwatch and shared that he's eagerly anticipating the opportunity to enjoy the upcoming developments as a player.
Although Spector did not reveal his next move or his successor, he noted that the franchise would remain "in great hands" with colleagues, including Aaron Keller and Jared Neuss.
