It did much better than the studio's previous game.
Sea of Stars, a turn-based RPG inspired by the 90s' classics, was finally released on August 29, and the developers from Sabotage Studio were overwhelmed by the number of people who wanted to experience its magic.
According to the studio, over 100,000 copies were sold on the day of launch. This is a much bigger success than The Messenger, its previous game that shares the universe with Sea of Stars, saw – the 2018 title sold under 50,000 units in a week.
"Sea of Stars is a turn-based RPG inspired by the classics. It tells the story of two Children of the Solstice who will combine the powers of the sun and moon to perform Eclipse Magic, the only force capable of fending off the monstrous creations of the evil alchemist known as The Fleshmancer."

The game aims to "modernize the classic RPG in turn-based combat, storytelling, exploration and interactions with the environment, while still offering a hearty slice of nostalgia and good old, simple fun."
And it might have reached this goal: it has a Metascore of 88 on Metacritic and Very Positive reviews on Steam. Time and stars will tell how this project affects the studio and the industry in general.
