MetaMeta successfully recreated the iconic '50s pin-up aesthetic in 3D.
2D/3D Digital Artist MetaMeta, who greatly impressed us back in December 2023 by showcasing a liquid-in-a-bottle effect created using an unusual method, has once again captivated thousands on Reddit with a remarkable new project.
Marking the return of MetaMeta's "Copium Cola", which was featured in the previous project mentioned above, the artist's new 3D masterpiece imagines a retro-style commercial with the iconic '50s pin-up aesthetic. According to the creator, the animation was set up in Blender using a mix of shaders and compositing.
In addition, the creator commented on the production process behind the project, explaining how a Normal Map and Grease Pencil were used to simulate brush strokes, discussing the usage of Blender Compositor, and sharing several insightful tutorials that might help you achieve the same style. You can check out the full breakdown by visiting MetaMeta's original Reddit post.
