Rockstar Admitted Red Dead Online Is Impacted by GTA 6

Red Dead Online fans shouldn't expect major updates any time soon.

Rockstar Games has shared its plans for Red Dead Online saying that the absence of major content updates recently is connected to the company's focus on Grand Theft Auto VI.

"Over the past few years, we have been steadily moving more development resources towards the next entry in the Grand Theft Auto series – understanding more than ever the need to exceed players’ expectations and for this next entry to be the best it can possibly be – and as a result, we are in the process of making some changes to how we support Red Dead Online."

Moreover, fans shouldn't expect to see big updates any time soon, although Rockstar will develop the existing content, including story-based cooperative missions, competitive Showdown Modes, and other features.

"We plan to build upon existing modes and add new Telegram Missions this year, rather than delivering major themed content updates like in previous years, and we will continue to highlight and share the creative efforts of our Red Dead community at every opportunity via the Newswire and beyond."

Red Dead Online players are not happy, naturally, but at least it's some closure. Let's see what awaits the game in the future.

Earlier, credible insider Tez2 reported that the company shelved GTA IV and Red Dead Redemption remasters. Recently, he also said GTA VI is targeting a late 2023 – early 2024 release.

"If nothing changed from last year, Rockstar is still aiming for a late 2023 – early 2024 release window. But there's always uncertainty when it comes to dates even when Rockstar officially announces them. So keep that in mind."
