Custom Metaballs with Geometry Nodes

erindale.xyz showed off "BetterBalls."

Artist erindale.xyz, the founder of Nodegroup online school for procedural generation and creative coding, has shared a fun Blender setup recreating metaballs with Signed Distance Functions (SDFs) in Geometry Nodes. The creator called it "metaballs but better", or "BetterBalls."

Geometry Nodes showed their supremacy once again here, creating a very satisfying motion of crystal balls. erindale.xyz used a volume cube and pre-processed the SDF with a repeat zone so the result wasn't too hard of their PC.
