Someone Recreated Bloodborne's Cone Hat Ladder Meme on PC

Nearly a decade later, wearing cone-shaped metal hats is still a bad idea.

With the onslaught of news about the community's efforts to finally port Bloodborne to PC, it was only a matter of time before someone would try to recreate the game's well-known "cone hat ladder" meme on a new platform, and I'm delighted to report that someone actually has.

Proving that wearing cone-shaped metal hats is still a bad idea, even on PC, content creator Wilboforce has showcased their remake of the scene featuring the same outfit with Gold Ardeo as its centerpiece, the same location, and, of course, the same sound effect from YouTube's Audio Library. Wilboforce even went the extra mile to gather the exact same items and match the original video's number of Echoes and Insight. If that's not dedication, I don't know what is.

As for the technical side of things, the author utilized the latest build of, no surprises here, shadPS4, a robust emulator capable of running 3D PlayStation 4 games on PC. Although still in early development, the emulator receives frequent updates and improvements, making it increasingly likely that we'll soon be able to play Bloodborne from start to finish on PC. You can learn more about shadPS4 by visiting the team's official website.

Back in late August, YouTuber Deck Wizard also employed shadPS4 to port Bloodborne to Valve's Steam Deck, successfully launching the game on the handheld and playing it at around 30 FPS.

Even though it's become a running joke to mock Sony for neglecting Bloodborne and its fanbase, reports suggest that some Bloodborne project is actually in development at FromSoftware, possibly the long-awaited PC port. With all the negative publicity the company has been facing lately, from the cancellation of Concord to PS5 Pro's outrageous price, it seems more and more that betting on an established game series with a dedicated community and significant sales potential would be a smart move, both sales and reputation-wise.
