Square Enix Talent Would Love to Remake Final Fantasy VI

They need to finish the Final Fantasy VII trilogy first though.

The Final Fantasy brand manager, Yoshinori Kitase, shared there are many fans within Square Enix who are eager for a remake of Final Fantasy VI. The manager then added that it's too early to discuss plans for the future, as they will only start thinking about new remakes once the Final Fantasy VII trilogy is completed.

Final Fantasy creator Hironobu Sakaguchi thinks remaking the sixth installment will be even more challenging because it is a pixel-based game. He then jokingly asked Kitase if he could release the next installments of Final Fantasy VII remakes more quickly. It isn't easy, he replied.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is set to be released in early 2024, and the development of the final part of the trilogy has already begun. Reports say Square Enix is also working on a remake of the ninth installment, but little is known about the project.
