Eric Barone, a.k.a. ConcernedApe, the developer behind Stardew Valley, recently took to Twitter and shared that patch 1.6 is almost done. According to Barone, the update turned out to be even bigger than it was initially planned.
"1.6 ended up being a little larger in scope than originally planned. I'm done adding major new content to it now, though, and it's in a bug-fixing and polishing phase until it's ready for release," wrote Baron. "Thank you for your patience. It'll be fun to see everyone play it!"
The good news is that the developer has completed all the content that will be included in the upcoming update, and for now, Baron is focused on addressing various bug fixes and polishing it all.

Adding to that, the patch will "absolutely" be coming later this year.
As for now, the developer is working on a new game called Haunted Chocolatier. The game promises a positive, uplifting, and life-affirming experience, and the gameplay will be around picking up ingredients, making chocolate, and managing a shop.
