A New Game From the Developer of Stardew Valley

Here's some early gameplay footage from ConcernedApe's upcoming Haunted Chocolatier game.

The developer of Stardew Valley Eric Barone, also known by his alias ConcernedApe, has announced his second game – ConcernedApe’s Haunted Chocolatier and released some early gameplay footage from it. According to the announcement video, the game is going to be positive, uplifting, and life-affirming. The gameplay revolves around gathering ingredients, making chocolate, and managing a shop.

"Chocolate represents that which is delightful. The haunted castle represents the allure of the unknown. The ghosts represent the imprint of the past. All of these things are important," comments the developer. "However, if Stardew Valley mostly channeled the energy of the sun, Haunted Chocolatier channels the energy of the moon. Both are vital."

Haunted Chocolatier has been in development for about a year, and Barone isn’t willing to commit to a release date or even a release window yet. He does note that the title is currently single-player, with no plans for multiplayer, and that the only platform he’s “100 percent certain about” is PC, although he has “every intention of bringing it to the other major platforms as well.”
