Starfield is less than two weeks away, and in anticipation of the upcoming space RPG's release, Bethesda's Director Todd Howard has verified the introduction of a New Game+ mode for Starfield. This exciting addition lets players dive into a fresh playthrough using a previously completed game save, giving them the advantage of boosted stats and new items to ease their journey from the start.

In a recent interview with GQ, Howard confirmed the presence of the New Game+ feature in Starfield. He emphasized that this inclusion aims to entice players into experiencing the game multiple times. Furthermore, the developer revealed that Starfield even adds a unique and exciting twist on New Game+ to incentivize continued and repeat play.

"Starfield delivers BGS' most immersive role-playing since 2006's Oblivion," commented Howard. It gives you the flexibility and options to carve out a unique identity, and even adds a unique and exciting twist on New Game+ to incentivise continued and repeat play."

While Howard didn't provide an in-depth breakdown of the exact elements that will transfer from finishing Starfield to starting a New Game+ save, only noting that the mode does exist, the addition of the New Game+ option is nonetheless significant because it is the first time Bethesda Game Studios incorporates this gameplay feature into one of their titles.

During the interview, Howard also revealed that he considers The Elder Scrolls 6's way-too-early announcement to be a mistake and wishes to have approached the occasion differently.
