The QA department has lost more than half of its staff members in the past month.
The underperformance of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, a multiplayer action shooter developed by Rocksteady, has caused publisher Warner Bros. to suffer a loss of $200 million and even consider leaving the game business. Despite fans being promised one year of support for this $70 live-service game, the future of the game and the studio doesn’t seem to be a bright one.

According to Eurogamer’s sources, the developer has started to lay off staff members. The QA department lost over half of its employees, decreasing from 33 to 15 in the past month. As a result, the rest of the team will undertake more work. Rocksteady’s management also acknowledged the cutoff would impact product quality.
The job cuts at Rocksteady affect not only junior members but also some staff members who have been working at Rocksteady for longer than five years. An employee was even let go during paternity leave.

Not long after the game was launched, game insider Miller Ross revealed that Season 5, which is slated for launch in 2025, might be the final season of the game. By that time, the game would’ve received the promised one-year after-launch support. What fate awaits it, then? The answer seems to be quite obvious already.
