Tower 57: Pixel Art Shooter with Art-Deco Style

A small indie game from Germany is building an impressibe pixel art shooter, where you can destroy everything.

German company Pixwerk is wrapping up its Kickstarter campaign for its amazing shooter Tower 57. This amazing game combines elements of pixel art and art deco in an cross-platform mix of cyberpunk, non-stop action and total destruction.

Pixwerk is a very small two-man team (however there’s actually the people working with the game) and the way they are building this game is really amazing. The company has managed to build an impressive 2D engine that supporta s lot of interesting features. First of all it gives the player an option to choose any way you want to play. Second of all – the environments are totally destructible, so there’s literally nothing good left when you leave the level. And the last thing is the support of local co-op mode, which is always great.

Tower 57

Tower 57 is an old-school twin stick shooter that takes you to the beautiful ruins of a decadent art deco-meets-cyberpunk world, where humanity is split between warring societies living in mega-towers surrounded by radioactive wasteland. Your mission, as a member of a special investigative force, is to infiltrate the reclusive Tower 57 and thwart their plans for an invasion that could spell doom for your home tower.

The project had a lot of support from the public and the press. Now with only 4 days left to go, this game still needs about €6 000 to meet its crowdfunding goals. Let’s hope this project succeeds and we’ll see Tower 57 on Steam in the nearest future.
