V-Ray 5 for Unreal Engine 4 Has Been Released

The update adds support for layer-based compositing in the V-Ray Frame Buffer, a new Coat Layer for the V-Ray Material, and more.

Chaos Group has shipped V-Ray 5 for Unreal Engine, the latest version of their production rendering plugin for importing V-Ray scenes into UE. V-Ray 5 for Unreal brings you new features that will improve your workflow, give you more control, and save you time. You’ll have more control over your light baking. You’ll be able to post-process your renders in the V-Ray Frame Buffer. And your workflow will be compatible with other V-Ray 5 applications.

  • Updated V-Ray core to version 5.10.03
  • Blue Noise Sampling
  • Initial Out of core support (only V-Ray proxy geometry)
  • Improved Trace depth for reflection and refraction rays
  • New implementation of VFB with integrated Layers compositing
  • Implemented Intel Open Image Denoise
  • Support for geometry pivot offset
  • Support for Coat layer in VRayMtl
  • Added export only selected nodes to .vrscene
