Meet the new Corporate Patron.
Volkswagen announced they decided to back the Blender Development Fund. The new Corporate Patron membership means at least €120,000/year in funding for the developers of the open-source 3D software.
It is worth noting the company became the first major automotive firm to support the toolkit. Previously, other giants decided to back the project, too, including NVIDIA, Intel, Amazon, Meta, Epic Games, and Unity.
"The VW Group is delighted to support the Blender Foundation as the 1st major Automotive OEM," wrote the company. "We as the VW Group would like to reward the fantastic work of the Blender Community by joining the foundation as a Patron member."
