XREAL Games announced that its co-op VR shooter, Gambit!, is presumably coming on PC VR and Quest 2 in May 2022, according to the game's relaunched Steam page. The studio first reported that the game was in development in 2020. However, later XREAL shifted its focus on launching Zero Caliber on Quest.
Gambit! is a story-driven co-op campaign for VR headsets that will be available to play by one to four players. The game is set in the pre-apocalyptic world and offers the players to take part in road-movie-like adventures with pulling off heists, utilizing weapons, and "rock and roll".
Gambit! will include three chapters comprising three different maps with each of them offering a number of unlockable content, that can be reached through progress. The game will take over 20 hours to complete and will offer the players deathmatches, tournaments, minigames, and boss fights. According to XREAL, Gambit! will feature a PvP mode the full cross-play between PC VR and Quest will be available.
Meanwhile, the XREAL team keeps working on the PC VR version of Zero Caliber, which currently is in early access. The company also expects to bring the game to PSVR. It hasn't been revealed yet if Gambit! could also be released on Sony’s headset.
