Illithid Knight
This Illithid Knight was heavily inspired by the Baldurs Gate 3 and their characters. I'm a big fan of dungeons and dragons, and I wanted to create a version of an Illithid that perhaps didn't fully make its way through ceremorphosis. Instead this illithid is a cross between the two sharing traits of its original form while taking on new ones through its illithid evolution.
This was a really fun project and a big challenge. I'm sure there is still a lot I could push with this character but I think it's time to call it done and move onto something new!
My aim for this character was something AAA however I didn't limit myself to just one texture set. In my mind this is a hero character and I wanted to keep the details as high a resolution as I could, so I indulged myself a bit.
Its rendered within Marmoset however I might port it over to unreal if I get them rigged up.

Kratos
A hand painted version of Kratos from God of War. Ultimately I wanted to achieve a stylized look of Kratos taken through the fully character art pipeline for game dev.
This was my first dive in hand painted art, one that I thoroughly enjoyed and will be diving deeper into in the future.

Mjolnir and Leviathan Axe
Fan Art of Mjolnir and Leviathan Axe in celebration of God of War Ragnarok being announced!

Cthulhu Bust
Spent a bit of time tonight pushing a sculpt I had done a little further and played about in substance painter to try and get something close to the dishonored style statues by Yannick Gombart. Super fun little project and real happy with the result! Might work on it again the future but for now i'm pleased!

The Red Dragon Inn
This was a lengthy personal project that I worked on in my spare time. It is based on the original concept by Mateusz Mizak.
I initially rendered in in marmoset 3, and then updated it to marmoset 4. While I loved the finished result, I felt it was missing a background to really set it in a living scene. I began learning Unreal Engine 4 at the end of 2021 and thought it was the perfect time to bring it into the engine.

Unreal Engine, Stylized Environment Experimentation
At the end of 2021 I finally took the plunge and starting studying Unreal Engine. Beginning with a course with Escape Studios, before pressing on with the Stylized Station course. I learned a lot thought these small environments and It was really refreshing switching back to environment art after focusing on characters for so long.
I also made my first ever water shader which I was very pleased about! As well as trying my hand at some trees and foliage along with the vertex painting and RVTs used for the colour gradients seen in the environments.
