Austrian Curtains
I had been watching Flying Circus and got the idea from Terry Gilliam's transition sketches to do some stage curtains. Creating an accurate representation of velour fabric was a rewarding challenge. This was really fun to create and I hope you like it! 100% procedurally made in designer and rendered in Marmoset.
Industrial Windows
Some old industrial type windows done as a material study. I played through F.E.A.R recently and saw a bunch of these along walls in the warehouse levels and decided to take a stab at creating some. This was a fun exercise and I hope you like it! 100% procedurally made in designer and rendered in IRay/Marmoset 3.
Roubaix Cobblestone
Been getting warmer out and seeing all the green made me want to do a material with the same feel. Just some cobblestones inspired by the Roubaix cobblestone path for bikers. 100% procedural in Substance Designer, rendered in Marmoset.
Procedural Tiles
Just a material study to practice and showcase how I use parameters inside designer to provide variation. I wanted to make this look realistic as well as give it functionality and create an effective generator. 100% procedural in Substance Designer, rendered in IRay/Marmoset.
Tree Bark
Tree bark has always been a tough one for me to accurately create in my material work so I tried to challenge myself to create it as best as possible in this material study. 100% Substance Designer, rendered in IRAY/Marmoset
CCTV Security Board
Been diving into some unexplained CCTV footage videos on youtube and wanted to adapt it into some sort of material. After playing through the KGB level in COD Cold War recently I saw a wall of security monitors and thought it would be fun to combine the two ideas and make my take of it procedurally. Hope you like it! 100% Substance Designer, rendered in IRAY/Marmoset.
Sun-Baked Mud
A dried mud material study I worked on. Always would see this stuff on baseball fields after rain and always thought the patterns were cool! This one was good practice and super fun to make so I hope everyone enjoys it! 100% procedurally made in designer and rendered in IRay/Marmoset
Attic Insulation
Spray foam insulation just like the stuff in my garage. Had a lot of fun with this one and incorporated lots of critique - I'm happy to show the result! 100% designer and rendered in IRay/Marmoset.
Ps2 Memory Cards
Went through some old boxes and found a few of my memory cards from my early gaming days. Thought it would be cool to recreate them procedurally in designer - I was right. 100% procedurally made in designer and rendered in IRay/Marmoset.
Shark Scales
I was inspired to do a shark skin material in Substance Designer after Kisame's sword in Naruto. I found they double well as dragon scales and gave them a subtle hue shift and more dramatic lighting to embrace it. 100% procedural.
Portal 2 - Circuit Board
This was a triumph. I'm making a note here, huge success. So I had replayed Portal 2 recently and absolutely adored the aesthetic of the breaker room, so I decided to try and recreate it procedurally as a material in substance designer. This was super fun to make and I hope you enjoy it!
